Public Sector client is seeking a Technology Architect to support the collaboration between teams in the design, development, operation, and sustainment of systems.
Mandatory Requirements
- As a minimum the candidate must hold a College Degree in an Information Technology related domain or demonstrate a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in the last 10 years as an IT System Administrator as part of an organization of at least 25 employees
- Minimum of 3 years of demonstrated experience in the last 6 years:
Managing and operating infrastructure:
– installing operating systems and applications on isolated computer networks or standalone systems
– updating system configurations, such as applying service packs and upgrading applications
Optional requirements
- Must hold a CompTIA A+ certification A copy of the certification must be presented;
- Must demonstrate a minimum of 12 months of experience in the last 3 years with simulation system software including:
a) VISTA by CAE
b) MACE by MSI
c) VBS Blue by BIS
d) VR-Forces by MAK - Must demonstrate a minimum of 24 months of experience in the 5 years with simulation system software in a networked environment including unclassified and classified (SECRET and above) information;
- Must demonstrate a minimum of 12 months experience in the last 5 years with various networked tactical military sensors and equipment, integrating the sensor data feed in storage systems:
a) Tactical Data Links
b) EO/IR sensor(s) & encoder(s)
c) Synthetic Aperture Radar
d) Cross Domain Solutions
e) SATCOM system(s)
f) Other systems (please specify) - Can demonstrate their additional practical experience as an IT System Administrator as part of an organization of at least 25 employees.
General Tasks
- Install, monitor, configure and maintain operating systems (OS) and software applications including simulation related software;
- Install, monitor, upgrade and maintain hardware and software including video distribution and recording systems, OS virtualisation solutions, Voice over IP and chat applications, data storage, military sensors and communication tools including Tactical Data Link (TDL);
- Analyze systems performance and recommend improvements applicable to simulation system software and hardware as well as static and mobile lab infrastructures;
- Implement and develop integration solutions of operational systems with simulation systems to affect a seamless transmission of data and information;
- Develop simulation scenarios in preparation and during exercises, capability demonstrations, trials and other experimental events;
- Prepare and execute Tactical Data Link (TDL) simulation events in support of client requirements;
- Perform work with engineers, scientists, technicians, and clients/stakeholders to maintain and improve software/systems performance with a focus on simulation systems software and hardware;
- Provide support during the selection, procurement specifications, setup, maintenance, operation & training for simulations systems and related technologies;
- Apply problem solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems.
