There is a requirement for System Administrator, Level 2 to support the Electronic Warfare Engineering Section
Mandatory requirements
- At least 5 years years of experience within the past 10 years performing installation, upgrade, configuration, and maintenance of operating systems on both physical and virtual computers.
- At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years performing installation, configuration and troubleshooting of virtualization solutions.
- At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years performing installation, upgrade, configuration and maintenance of physical hardware on the network.
- At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years performing installation, upgrade, configuration and maintenance of user and group specific software over the network.
- At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years performing backup and recovery of information systems including for both individual machines and complete data centers.
- At least 5 years of experience within the past 10 years performing first line troubleshooting support for all the following:
- network infrastructure;
- connected hardware;
- packaged software.
General tasks
- Install and configure system software and hardware;
- Install and configure client system software within the cloud;
- Manage network appliances and servers;
- Manage client system virtual network appliances and servers;
- Setup user accounts and build and allocate required virtual machines;
- Monitor and client system performance;
- Perform routine maintenance of and client system as required or when requested by the TA;
- Troubleshoot technical issues and system outages;
- Backup and restore critical systems and data at least once per week, or as requested by TA;
- Support testing of new system software releases for use within the cloud. This must be accomplished by working with users to ensure that updates haven’t broken their specific environment (tool dependencies, shared drives, user virtual machines, etc….);
- Deploy new software releases for use within the cloud as required by the TA;
- Other system and network administration-related tasks, as required by the TA.
- The System Administrator must assist in developing documentation for the performance of the above tasks through the validation of draft administration instructions and/or the development of new instruction, deployable system and electronic warfare M&S support.
