Public client is seeking a Dynamics 365 (D365) Technical Lead to support and lead the design, development, and implementation of D365 solutions. The role involves mentoring team members, working with vendors and clients, maintaining existing applications, and providing expert guidance on D365 and the Microsoft Power Platform.

Mandatory requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or technical diploma with experience working in the Information Technology sector.
  • Demonstrated experience as a Senior Dynamics 365 Technical Lead. The client considers Senior level to be demonstrable experience working on multi-year, enterprise IT implementation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with development in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), specifically the Customer Service and Sales Module.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing Power Pages Portals.
  • Demonstrated experience creating solutions for re-use across more than one enterprise solutions built on the Microsoft D365 platform.
  • Demonstrated experience with Microsoft D365 integrations with third party services and public facing portals (e.g. Saskatchewan.ca/Saskatchewan Account).
  • Candidate must be able to work 100% onsite at a Government of Saskatchewan office in Regina, Saskatchewan, effective the contract start date.

Optional requirements 

  • Experience working with the Public Client (Government of Saskatchewan) or similar organizations, with a strong understanding of their technical and business environment.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Azure, Azure Functions and Common Data Services.
  • Demonstrated experience configuring, customizing and writing plugins for Microsoft D365.
  • Successful completion of application development and deployment of one or more Dynamics 365 projects working at a Senior level. 
  • The Client considers Senior level to be demonstrable experience working on multi-year, enterprise IT implementation projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing development, estimating, planning and scheduling project activities in a Dynamics 365 application.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Power Platform. Proponent to list capabilities and details.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple IT service management frameworks/methodologies such as ITIL, DevOps, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting multiple environments (Non-prod, Prod, DR) for enterprise IT systems.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Microsoft Power BI and XRMToolbox.
  • Demonstrated experience working with multiple IT vendors on the same project.
  • Demonstrated experience with knowledge sharing and/or mentoring junior team members.
  • Demonstrated experience working on setting up pipeline deployment for Microsoft D365 application releases.
  • Demonstrated experience working on data migration from data sources such as SQL database to Dataverse.
  • Demonstrated experience with the following technologies is considered an asset:
    · SharePoint
    · XML
    · Oracle Database
    · Azure Synapse

General tasks

Duties of the Microsoft D365 Technical Lead role will include but are not necessarily limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design innovative solutions using Microsoft D365, specifically Customer Service and Sales modules, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform;
  • Design solutions, customize and configure these platforms to align with business needs, including creating workflows, forms, dashboards, and reports;
    – Develop custom solutions leveraging .NET, Azure Functions, plugins etc.
  • Migrate data from other database sources such as SQL Server or Oracle; and
  • Developing application specific reporting using Power BI and other Enterprise reporting tools.
  • Lead all technical aspects of projects related to the implementation and enhancement of Microsoft D365, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform solutions;
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, according to agreed upon requirements and technical specifications, while meeting quality standards; and
  • Provide and implement recommendations to ensure overall D365 platform stability, maturity and ongoing improvement.
    – Recommend, design and build tools and utilities to manage the D365 platform.
  • Manage user access, permissions, and security settings for Microsoft D365, and Power Platform;
  • Perform routine maintenance, updates, and troubleshoot technical issues to ensure optimal platform performance;
  • Offer responsive support and guidance to resolve user queries and technical challenges;
  • Continuously refine and enhance existing solutions to increase efficiency and productivity; and
    Engage with external vendors and Microsoft support as necessary to resolve complex technical issues or obtain guidance on best practices.
    – Leading application releases and refining release technical processes, typically leveraging Azure DevOps pipelines.
  • Integrate D365 and Power Platform with other enterprise systems to ensure seamless data exchange; and
  • Design and build data flows, transformations, and integrations to enhance data accuracy and availability.
