Public Sector client requires help of a interdepartmental and departmental business process transformation activities and engaging with key stakeholders and
clients in the advancement of technologies and analytics. This will require providing advice and guidance to the Director, Financial Systems Integration (DFSI), to the Director General, Strategic Financial Governance (DGSFG), to the Governance and Project Management Office team (G&PMO) within DFSI, as well as clients and stakeholders
Mandatory requirements
- Experience in business process transformation by leading and enabling
business improvements in SAP. A minimum of two projects are required. - Possession of an SAP FI Certification
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience as an SAP FI consultant performing all
the following tasks:
• Develop and document functional, business, and/or system requirements specifications;
• Develop and document integrated business processes in the SAP system;
• Gather and analyze information to establish the functional / business needs of an SAP
system or project. - Experience with complex SAP projects for a Canadian federal department with multiple
stakeholders for a minimum of 5 years. Complex is defined as significant scope, dollar
value, and integrated processes across modules - Experience working on designing, developing, and configuring S/4HANA within the FI
module for a Canadian federal department, agency or corporation
Optional requirements
- Experience in developing stakeholder SAP FI technical requirements for SAP S/4HANA projects
- Experience in providing advice and support including analysis, configuration, problem resolution, and testing in the following modules within the last ten (10) years:
• Funds Management (FM)
• Financial Accounting (Fl)
• Controlling (CO)
• Material Management (MM)
• Special Purpose Ledger (SPL)
• Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT)
• FIS Interfaces
• Business Planning and

• Salary Forecasting Tool (SFT)
• Plant Maintenance (PM) - Experience working on SAP implementation projects with experience in leading
business requirements gathering workshops and defining to-be processes. - Experience working on designing, developing, and configuring S/4HANA
within the FI module.
To qualify, the resource must have worked for a Canadian federal department, agency or corporation. Experience with a provincial or municipal institution will not be considered for this section.
General Tasks
- Assist in mapping current as-is financial processes to S/4HANA to-be processes in the SAP Financial Accounting module (FI) module, such as payables, receivables, asset accounting, and special purpose ledger. Integrated modules should also be considered (e.g. Controlling Module (CO), Funds Management (FM), Project Systems, Material Management (MM), Real Estate (RE-FX), and Human Resources
- Assist in business requirements gathering workshops to discuss and align on financial process improvement and any pain points. Information would then be used to inform the project and Model Company for Canada (MC4C) working sessions with Other Government Departments (OGD) and other L1s in the department
- Enabling to identify the SAP S/4HANA “as-is” state, and developing a crosswalk to
the “to-be” state. Identify and establish organizational change management,
communication, and training strategies and plans required, to ensure financial community is engaged and are being advised of project status, impacts, and changes to financial business processes; - Supporting and assisting to identify, assess and mitigate current financial pain points on various SAP interdependent projects such as Business Partner Modernization, Financial Operations transformation, etc.
- Advising senior management (Directors, DGs, and above) and identify linkages with other interdepartmental initiatives that require alignment and integration with initiatives;
- Advise on documents for various initiatives, as well as, advice and briefings to the
Director and the DG attending governance bodies.
