Public Sector client is seeking communications consultant to work on a project that will involve optimizing hundreds of pages of web content.

Mandatory requirements

  • Since 2018, a minimum of 4 years of experience developing, writing, and editing web-based communications products in plain language (grade 6-8 reading level and/or specialized audiences).
  • Since 2018, a minimum of 4 years of experience making recommendations based on web product inventories, existing guidance, analytics and research.
  • Since 2018, a minimum of 4 years of experience making recommendations for improvements that led to the web content compliance with the Canada.ca design system.
  • Bilingual (English and French) at an Intermediate level in both oral interaction and comprehension.

General Tasks

  • Apply website optimization methodology to improve the TCS’s online ability to drive business goals. Introduce user-centered research and design, and manage navigation to facilitate access to the TCS products and services;
  • Website inventory modernization including: meeting accessibility requirements, aligning content with business needs including content design, information architecture, writing, layout recommendations and reviewing analytics reports to support decision-making identifying redundant, outdated, and trivial (ROT) content;
  • Ensuring web content is in line with the Canada.ca design system with a focus on the Web Content Style Guide; as well as the Guideline on Making Information Technology Usable by All, the Harmonized European Standard and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines.
