The focus of this contract is to support the development and enhancements of GAC’s SAP enterprise resource planning system in line with the current business needs and the future roadmap. Currently, GAC leverages multiple modules of SAP and is considering leveraging new functionality as it plans to modernize the system using SAP S/4HANA in the coming years.

GAC requires the services of one ERP Functional Analyst to perform analysis of business functions and provide opportunities for improvement. The tasks will include the creation of architectural requirements designs, process development, process mapping and training. The resource is also expected to deliver on SAP ERP project everyday support, configuration and testing for the following modules: FI, FM, CO, SFT, BCM, TRM, WF, DFSA, OM and Security Authorizations.

Mandatory requirements

  • Ten (10) years of experience as Enterprise Resource Planning Functional Analyst
  • Be a certified SAP FI & CO consultant
  • Ten (10) years of experience working in an SAP environment as an SAP FI/CO functional analyst within the Federal Government of Canada context
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience in the configuration, development and support of international banking in an SAP environment
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience as an ERP Functional Analyst in the role of Business Transformation Architect conducting a minimum of 5 out of 6 tasks listed below:
    1) Analysis and development of business success “Critical success factors”
    2) Analysis and development of architecture requirements design, process development, process mapping, and training
    3) Responsible for leading other functional staff to define business strategy and process in support of transformation and change management activities
    4) Participate in change impact analysis and change management activities
    5) Participate in organizational realignment (organizational restructuring)
    6) Create presentations and present to various stakeholders and facilitate meetings and discussion
  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in implementation, configuration and maintenance using S/4 Hana Activate Methodology, and/or Solution Manager 7.2 focused build or focused run
  • Minimum of three (3) projects within the last 10 years analyzing business functions for a Federal Government of Canada project and providing opportunities for improvement for inclusion in a business case. The experience must demonstrate delivering at a minimum business process change management documentation, terms of references documents, and analysis of the requirement

Optional requirements

  • Experience in configuring, implementing and supporting the SAP FI module within the Federal Government of Canada Context. This includes FI-AP/AR, GL, SPL, AA and Trial Balance
  • Extensive experience in developing, configuring, implementing and supporting the Departmental Financial Signing Authority (DFSA) solution in SAP
  • Experience in the configuration, development and support of international banking in an SAP environment
  • Experience in the configuration, development and support SAP ECC upgrades and major system implementations (such as enhancement pack upgrades, WebGUI, Cloud, etc)
  • Experience as an SAP Solution Architect
  • Experience in the design, development and support of a Procure to Pay solution in an SAP environment. The solution would include the use of workflows, webdynpro, portal, DFSA and other elements common to P2P

General tasks

  • Provide SAP ERP functional support (e.g. provide advice, analysis, resolution, design, testing, documentation of changes/test results, implementation and support)
  • Provide technical support for FIS and third party interfaces
  • Research GAC and SAP knowledge base (e.g. OSS Notes) in support of troubleshooting activities
  • Review, update functional documentation in support of the existing SAP ERP 6.0 system
  • Communicate with Digital Comptrollership Program and SAP to address SAP ERP issues, where applicable
  • Provide on-going knowledge transfer and/or training to the SMS employees throughout the duration of the contract
  • Provide SAP ERP functional expertise for planned projects
  • Create and update functional documentation related to various projects
  • Assist with the identification of the key milestones, detailed tasks, and critical dependencies
  • Participate in workshops, working groups and presentations to users and the Management team
  • Workflow processes, FIORI and Portal ERP in support of the maintenance of the current solution and enhancements to Procure to Pay (P2P) and acquisition card processes
  • Provide analysis and advice to management with regards strategies for S/4HANA planning, as well as for other GAC transformation projects impacting the financial system
