Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) has a requirement for a Business Analyst to provide programming support and maintenance services for the Pacific Region’s Commercial, Recreational, and Indigenous Fisheries Information Management Systems.
Mandatory requirements
- experience in the following tasks:
- analyzing business processes;
- analyzing information needs; and
- documenting statements of user requirements
- experience in the following:
- preparing test cases in support of quality assurance; and
- performing integration; and
- performing acceptance testing for complex application development projects.
- sixty (60) months of experience in Information Technology (IT) as a Business Analyst for complex application development projects;
- sixty (60) months of experience in the following:
- performing business analyses; and
- documenting functional requirements.
- sixty (60) months of experience in the following:
- evaluating existing procedures and methods; and
- establishing acceptance test criteria with clients.
General tasks
- Develop and document statements of requirements for considered alternatives
- Perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows.
- Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, application subsystems.
- Define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems.
- Establish acceptance test criteria with client.
- Support and use the selected departmental methodologies.
