Application/Software Architect

The Directorate of Aerospace Equipment Program Management (DAEPM), Radar and Communications Systems (R&CS) 3 North Warning System (NWS) office has a requirement for an Intermediate Application/Software Architect to support the NWS Information Technology (IT) Section to assist with their Maximo system application requirements.

Mandatory requirements

• Degree or diploma from a College or a University in the field of sciences, mathematics, or computer sciences;
• Certificate of IBM certified deployment professional-Maximo asset management;
• Five (5) years of demonstrated experience within the last ten (10) years in IBM Maximo design and data migration/conversion from IBM Maximo to an alternative application;
• three (3) or more months of IT-related experience in at least one (1) of the following:
  • a) SQL (Oracle database);
  • b) Maximo configuration;
  • c) Solution design;
  • d) Workflow design;
  • e) Automation scripting;
  • f) Management Support;
  • g) Preparing documentation;
  • h) Troubleshooting;
  • i) Business Intelligence & Reporting Tools (BIRT) reports;
  • j) Installations and upgrades.

General tasks

• Provide technical support services for the NWS Information Management System (IMS);
• Support the TA with the NWS Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contractor to review and provide comments to the TAs on developed solution architectures;
• Provide recommendations to TA to implement business requirements such as procurement, inventory, and work order as they pertain to the Maximo application;
• Review the detailed technical designs of business solution components and prototypes and provide recommendations to TA to ensure best business practices.
• Support the TA to oversee new instances or upgrade existing instances of Maximo;
• Provide insight into the management of multiple technical environments, development, and testing processes;
• Provide technical experience to support data conversion and migration;
• Provide insight into the system configuration requirements and construct interfaces with external systems;
• Identify areas of customization and optimization and provide solutions that meet the business requirements;
• Support requests from users to research system problems or errors, and assist with the resolution; and
• Support the TA to evaluate extensions to Maximo business objects, class files, deployed web services, customizations, and configurations.
