The Department of National Defence (DND) has a requirement for one (1) Intermediate Project Administrator to support the Director of Research Personnel Generation (DRPG), within the Director General Military Personnel Research and Analysis (DGMPRA), to administer several related projects in response to the Independent External Comprehensive Review (IECR) and the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) / Defence Minister (DM) Directive for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) Reconstitution concerning research on ethics, conduct and culture, and other related research topics. 

Mandatory requirements

  • Must have 4 years of experience providing administrative and technical support to a project team.
  • Degree from an undergraduate program in social sciences or first year of a master’s degree in psychology, sociology, or social sciences.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word.
  • Experience leading a project team within the last six (6) years for no less than six (6) months.
  • Sufficient breadth of experience in providing project support involving documenting and maintaining project data.
  • The proposed resource should be able to communicate effectively in French both orally and in writing.

General tasks

  • Assisting the project team in all management activities including financial, planning, and
    contracting aspects
  • Providing clerical administrative and technical support as required to a project team.
  • Performing administrative, presentation, and data management tasks using Microsoft
    Windows micro applications (e.g., Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) to include basic
    quantitative analysis (e.g., mean, mode, standard deviation).
  • Assisting in performing such tasks as maintaining project documentation and records
    and preparing graphs, charts, and tables for research reports and presentations.
  • Tracking and monitoring the project and maintaining and distributing project details (e.g.,
    budget deliverables) to ensure that the project is delivered on time and within budget.
  • Maintaining and updating relevant project information in manual and/or electronic files;
    project information might include such things as project activity schedules, status reports,
    correspondence.
  • Communicating with project management on administrative matters related to the
    project.
  • Assisting in the preparation and coordination of documentation in response to scheduled
    and unscheduled reports, returns, and observations to update management of project progress,
    and meetings with stakeholders and clients.
  • Maintain and track financial transactions, enter commitments and expenditures into the
    project financial budget
