Senior Project Leader

Department of National Defense requires the help of a Project Leader to assist with development, evolution and deployment of Microsoft 365 initiatives. The Project Leader must have experience in providing strategic advice on governance, organizational change management and Knowledge Management methodologies related to Microsoft 365.

Mandatory requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the last 15 years delivering enterprise level Information Management initiatives, including the definition and implementation of enterprise-level Information Architectures implementation and management of IT/IM programs/projects
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the last 15 years providing strategic advice and guidance on initiatives to deliver continuous improvement to existing processes and solutions, increase automation, and improve organizational efficiency
• Holding a current Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute (PMI)
• Holding a current Certified Agile Project Manager certification

Optional requirements

• Hands-on, technical experience with the development and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions
• Demonstrate experience providing strategic advice and guidance on Microsoft 365 adoption initiatives, including:
  • Establishing Microsoft 365 governance;
  • Planning and delivering training to technical and non- technical staff onMicrosoft 365 features.
• Demonstrate experience using Organizational Change Management to drive adoption of tools and processes related to Microsoft 365
• Demonstrate experience of implementing Knowledge Management strategies, methodologies, and modern tools to improve collaboration and productivity through process automation and content centralization
• Experience of providing strategic advisory services related to technology transformation for a Canadian federal government public safety organization

General tasks

• Manage several Project Managers, each responsible for an element of the project and its associated project team;
• Define and document project artifacts;
• Host or attend meetings with management team to ensure all organizational (internal and external) stakeholders are committed and moving forward on project and organizational goals;
• Plan, direct and control the activities of development and deployment of Microsoft 365 solutions within scheduled time and cost parameters;
• Analyze and Evaluate proposed computer applications to determine technical, operational and economic feasibility;
• Prepare briefing notes, presentations, plans, charts, tables and diagrams to assist in analyzing or resolving problems.
• Monitor the design, implementation and operations start-up of the proposed system/application against established goals, objectives and milestones
• Provide written reports on the progress of all assigned tasks/deliverables when requested by the TA;
• Provide guidance and knowledge transfer to other members of the team through training, SOPs, documentation and job shadowing; and
• Prepare the below:
  -Written and verbal advice.
  -Knowledge transfer.
  -Issues papers/Briefing Notes.
  -Presentation decks and materials.
  -Meeting facilitation and reports (e.g. monthly progress reports).
  -Guides, manuals, reports to be disseminated to various stakeholders as required.
  -Meeting agendas, schedules and minutes.
  -Synthesis reports of facilitated meetings.
  -Activity reports.
  -Conversation notes, design documentation, change management documentation, site inspection reports and other work requested under the contract.
• Provide strategic advice and guidance on Microsoft 365 adoption activities and governance;
• Recommend organizational change management solutions to drive adoption of tools and processes related to Microsoft 365;
• Implement knowledge management strategies, methodologies, and modern tools to improve collaboration and productivity through process automation and content centralization.
• Perform any other tasks related to this category, as required.
