The Department of Transport has a requirement to provide managerial, functional and technical system support services necessary to ensure the ongoing maintenance, development and effective operation of the Oracle Financials (ERP) common system solutions.

Initial duration of engagement: 240 days

Mandatory requirements

  • Certificate, diploma (or equivalent) (minimum 2 year), or degree in computer science or, computer systems engineering or, software engineering or, business administration (bachelor of commerce);
  • ten (10) years of experience with Oracle eBusiness and demonstrate a least five (5) years of Database Administration experience in Oracle eBusiness R12.2. x of which minimum three (3) years using Oracle database 19c;
  • minimum of 2 (two) years of experience in Oracle Cloud infrastructure like monitoring application processes, sizing up / down allocated resources, working with vendor for any issues that arise;
  • five (5) years of experience in configuring and troubleshooting hardware load balancers for Oracle eBusiness Suite R12x, such as Cisco Ace, F5 BigIT and Ctirix NetScaler;
  • five (5) years of experience in the Enterprise Command Centre (ECC).

General tasks

  1. Create/update documents as required or requested by TC on the current state of Oracle EBS environment;
  2. Plan and provide Production / Development architecture and support like by providing resolutions to issued logged by users, analyzing application / database performance issues etc;
  3. Responsible for day-to-day production support issues, related to performance and infrastructure. Monitor Applications, concurrent managers and Database health;
  4. Monitor batch database / application jobs, including but not limited to reviewing logs to understand any performance related issues;
  5. Perform periodic Application / database patching including CPU patches;
  6. Application and Database cloning to acceptance, development and training;
  7. Provide capacity planning to any new modules;
  8. Liaise with hardware and infrastructure service providers to provide them the right specifications like providing storage, memory information or which software versions are compatible with operating system versions etc;
  9. Provide architectural solutions for technical problems;
  10. Provide Application DBA support for Developers by resolving access-related issues, promoting code between environments etc;
  11. Provide valuable input for all the Change requests related to Infrastructure;
  12. Responsibility includes installing, maintaining and supporting Oracle Application 12x, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) and Oracle Application Portal 10x and OID for single sign-on.
