The Department of National Defence (DND) requires Human resources to support the Chief Information Officer reorganization needs. Creating a new organization requires staffing new positions of various classifications (AS, IT, PG, FI and IS).

Initial duration of engagement: 12 months

Mandatory requirements

  • 15 years experience within the past 20 years in providing Human Resources (HR) guidance and recommended approach.
  • 7 years experience within the last 10 years in applying PSEA policies.
  • 15 years of experience within the past 20 years in advising Managers and Senior Management on HR-related matters
  • a minimum of 1 year of experience working with Classification in assigning SJD, language profiles and security clearance.
  • experience in providing mentoring, tutoring, or coaching assistance.
  • 15 years of experience in compiling and preparing the final board reports and finalizing the results of the processes (such as establishing pools of candidates);
  • 15 years of experience in developing and preparing the assessment guide, tools and process;

General tasks

  1. Continue use of an already established HR strategy for classification and staffing of new positions of various AS, IT, PG, FI and IS positions.
  2. Maintain the HR plan.
  3. Work with ADM HR Civ for amendment and approval of the new organization chart.
  4. Working with classification, define each position with an assigned standard job description, language profile, security clearance and complete assessments.
  5. Review resumes from current AS, IT, PG, FI and IS pools for best fit within new organization chart(s).
  6. Work with ADM HR Civ to prepare posters of various positions to be staffed.
  7. Prepare HR staffing packages for various AS, IT, PG, FI and IS positions.
  8. Schedule and conduct interviews.
  9. Complete reference check.
  10. Establish agreements for the creation of pools.
  11. Provide advice and guidance to Senior management.
