The Department of National Defence (DND) requires a Life Cycle Management Specialist to manage and maintain freshwater systems on Canadian naval ships and submarines.
Initial duration of engagement: 36 months
Optional renewal periods: 2 x 1 year
Mandatory requirements
- must hold a valid Secret clearance
- 6+ years of experience in the area of the LCMM
- minimum of 6 months experience with implementing engineering changes
- minimum of 6 months experience providing support to Configuration Management processes
- 24+ months experience using an Enterprise Resources Management System (ERP) such as SAP or DRMIS (Defence Resource Management Information System).
General tasks
- Conduct technical studies and analysis to provide realistic and feasible technical solutions to standard technical or logistic problems/operational requirements, including preparation of Engineering Change (EC) Proposals;
- Prepare, modify or update specifications, drawings, technical instructions and orders;
- Analyze maintenance and Repair and Overhaul (R & O) data;
- Review and prepare technical procurement descriptions;
- Respond to and interface with the Canadian Forces Supply System (CFSS);
- Prepare data for initial provisioning and repair parts scaling;
- Prepare maintenance schedules, repair cycles and technical data for the Canadian Forces (CF) and associated contractors concerning R & O programs;
- Liaise with the TA or their representatives, coastal authorities, and industry, with regard to technical inquiries and research;
- Conduct disposal activities for obsolete systems and equipment;
- Investigate product baselines and Technical Data Package (TDP) elements for systems and equipment;
- Work in and interface with SAP (Defence Resource Management Information System (DRMIS)) and OMEGA PS database files held by Director General Maritime Equipment Program Management (DGMEPM) divisional directorates;
- Provide Equipment Registration Number (ERN) and equipment Support Lists (ESL) management and produce Monthly Progress Reports
