The Communications Consultant will assist the NRC Change Management Communications Officer and will be responsible for supporting them in the following areas:

  • Communications
  • Stakeholder Engagement
  • Change Management
  • Other related work as requested.

Mandatory requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Journalism, Communications or related subject area
  • Minimum of six (6) years’ experience as a Communications consultant with demonstrated experience liaising with stakeholders and a variety of staff across functions
  • Minimum of six (6) years experience in the development and creation of a variety of   communications materials related to internal communications, corporate communication, and/or stakeholder engagement. These should include: fact sheets, newsletters, presentations using text and graphic elements.
  • Strong writing skills in any of the following areas of expertise:
    Science;
    Technology;
    Innovation;
    Canadian Small, Medium Enterprises (SME);
    Clean Technology.
    Experience must be demonstrated via five (5) project samples as follows:
    three (3) writing samples from previous projects – a maximum of two (2) pages per sample.
    two (2) presentations from previous projects that contain text and graphic elements. The samples must have been created with both Canva graphic design platform and Microsoft PowerPoint – a maximum of five (5) pages per sample.

General Tasks

  • Assist the NRC Change Management Communications Officer to develop a variety of communication materials
  • Manage categorizing, classifying, and maintaining all communications materials on an internal document site
  • Update Communications workplan daily
  • Assist in scheduling meetings and doing follow ups.
  • Work collaboratively with the transition team to develop and deliver communications materials to help ensure all those impacted have the knowledge and ability necessary to successfully adopt the implemented changes
