Public Sector client requires Project Managers to provide support to delivery teams in the delivery of Digital Transformation and Operational projects and initiatives across multiple technology portfolios.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Delivered three medium to large size Digital or Technology projects.
  • Experience managing three projects using Agile approaches and methodologies such
    as scrum.
  • Experience managing one project using Azure DevOps, Microsoft Suite and Enterprise
    Portfolio Management tools, such as Planview
  • Two years’ experience managing:
    1. data projects
    2. IT infrastructure
    projects
    3. digital platform
    projects.

General Tasks

These tasks may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensure that the team’s efforts align with the broader business goals and strategic
    objectives.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into actionable
    tasks for the team.
  • Manage the Product Backlog:
    a. Work closely with the Product Owner to prioritize the product backlog based on business
    value and customer needs.
    b. Ensure that backlog items are well-defined, estimated, and ready for the development
    team.
  • Facilitate Agile Ceremonies:
    a. Lead and organize team meetings focused on planning, progress updates, reviews, and retrospectives.
    b. Ensure that these meetings are productive, time-boxed, and focused on the right
    outcomes.
  • Manage Risk and Dependencies:
    a. Identify potential risks and dependencies that could impact the project.
    b. Develop mitigation strategies and work with other teams or stakeholders to manage
    dependencies effectively.
  • Report on Progress including, Budget and Time Tracking
    a. Utilize Planview to manage project budgets, track time, and ensure the financial health of the project.
    b. Generate and analyze financial reports to keep the project within budget and on schedule.
  • Work Task Organization:
    a. Use Azure DevOps to organize and manage work tasks, ensuring all tasks are clearly
    defined, assigned, and tracked.
    b. Maintain and update the Azure DevOps board to reflect current progress and priorities, facilitating smooth workflow and communication.
  • Remove Impediments:
    a. Identify and remove any obstacles that may hinder the team’s progress.
    b. Act as a shield for the team to protect them from external disruptions and distractions.
  • Ensure Quality and Continuous Improvement:
    a. Promote and facilitate practices that ensure high quality (e.g., automated testing,
    continuous integration).
    b. Encourage the team to continuously reflect and improve their processes and practices.
  • Prepare Artifacts for Quarterly Big Room Planning:
    a. Develop and compile necessary artifacts, such as roadmaps, feature lists, and capacity
    plans, for quarterly big room planning sessions.
    b. Ensure that all planning artifacts are accurate, up-to-date, and align with strategic
    objectives and priorities.
